Heatwave June 0.9.4 Update!!!


The June Update is here just as June is ending!!!!!

This update includes a new character, stage, and literally so many balance changes!!!!

Heres the patch notes for y'all :)

Patch notes 0.9.4

NOTE:(Attacks are labelled using numpad notation, example: 6 would be foward, 2 is down, 5 is neutral, 4 is back, etc)

[New Features]

-New Character "Basil"

-New Assist "Basil"

-New Stage "Underworld Ocean"

-New BGM "Underworld Ocean"

-New BGM "Junkyard"

-New Difficulty option "Nightmare" :)

-Updated character select Screen.

-New Font for all text in the game.

-New Video option "High Contrast Stages"

-New Game Mechanic, Instant Block.(reduces guardstun and increases meter gain on guard)

-New Game Mechanic, Poison.

-All 22x inputs can now be done with 623 as well.

-The combo counter will now turn blue if the combo is not a true combo

-Can now pick a random character on the character select screen.

-Trivia about the game is shown randomly on the main menu.

-You can now hold a button to air recover, instead of having to press a button.

-Non projectile/trap/assist attacks while in power style now cause chip damage

-Survival mode difficulty is now tied to the amount of matches won, not the difficulty set in the options menu.

-Survival mode matches are limited to one round.

[Bug Fixes]

-Fixed a bug that caused Crow's A+D throw to be a command grab

-Fixed a bug that caused moves to buffer longer than they should have if you landed during an air attack.

-Fixed a graphics bug that happened while resetting during some character's ultras

-Fixed a bug that caused the guard sprite to be wrong on the first frame of a guard while crouching, or blocking overheads while standing.

-Fixed a bug that caused the BGM to play louder than it should.

-Fixed a bug that caused the game to sometimes stretch pixels unevenly.

-Fixed a bug that made changing the screen effect not apply correctly if you were in fullscreen.

-Fixed a bug that caused the healthbars to display incorrectly at very low health.

[Balance Changes]

{SPARROW}

-Sparrow can no longer "soul cancel" out of dead angle.

-Sparrow's Soul cancel mechanic now doesn't decrease over time once filled up. :)

-Sparrow's Soul cancel mechanic costs more soul meter to activate

-Sparrow's Soul meter takes longer to fill up.

-Increased Damage for Sparrow's super.

-Increased Hitstun and guardstun for Sparrow's 2A

{ROBIN}

-Increased Robin's walk speed.

-Increased damage on Robin's 236x.

-Increased damage on Robin's Ultra.

-The last hit on Robin's Ultra is no longer a low.

-Reduced Vertical knockback on the last hit of Robin's Ultra.

-Robin no longer has I-Frames on 214C.

-Robin now has Armor frames during all versions of 214x.

-Robin's 214x now reflects projectiles, but not traps(EX: Setsuna's 22x will not be reflected, but Setsuna's 214x will be reflected).

{MAI}

-Decreased the size of the hitbox for the 22x projectile.

-22x now causes a knockdown.

-Updated Mai's guard sprites.

{SETSUNA}

-Setsuna's 214x projectiles now inflict a poison ailment

-Decreased damage on Setsuna's 214x projectiles.

-Decreased Vertical knockback on Setsuna's 2C.

-Slightly Increased damage on Setsuna's 2C.

{V}

-Increased vertical knockback on V's 22A

-Decreased startup on V's 22A and 22B

-Added armor frames to all versions of V's 22x.

-Decreased Horizontal knockback on all versions of V's 214x

-Can't EX cancel his 214x and 236x followups into 214x/236x anymore :(

-New special move/followup 214x > 2B :)

{CLAY}

-Clay can no longer dash cancel out of dead angle while he has charge.

-Increased the vertical knockback for Clay's A+D Throw

{CROW}

-I-Frames on Crow's 22x are increased.(Now starts at frame 0 instead of frame 4)

-Can't EX cancel into 236C from the 2nd and 3rd hits of 236C anymore :(

{MONA}

-Decreased Mona's Walk speed.

-Decreased the size of the hitbox for mona's j.B and j.C

-Mona's j.C now knocks down

-Slightly increased damage on Mona's j.C

-Slightly increased vertical knockback on Mona's j.C

{HAWKE}

-Replaced both versions of the super.

{RAIN}

-Gave Rain a better 22C :)

-Gave Rain a new command normal, j.2C

-Decreased horizontal knockback on Rain's 5B

-Decreased horizontal knockback on Rain's j.A and j.B

-Rain can now jump cancel 5C.

{SECRET CHARACTER}

-[Redacted]'s 214x is removed.

-[Redacted]'s new 214x is a projectile attack, that if it hits, it power's up her 236x, 46x and j.214x/gives them different properties.

-all versions of [Redacted]'s [4]6x now hit mid(A/B were overheads, EX was unblockable)

-[Redacted] now no longer counter attacks when hit during 22x, she teleports instead.

-[Redacted]'s 5C no longer knocks down.

{SYSTEM}

-Finetuned some of the CPU's behavior

-There is now an effect for when a player is attacked during armor frames.

-New effect for guarding.

-New effect for parries.

-New sound effect for EX specials.

-New effect for when a throw is teched

-Slightly Decreased the length of dashes.

-Slightly Decreased the jump height of all characters.

-Slightly Decreased the horizontal speed of all jumps.

-Slightly Increased the double jump height.

-Increased the minimum height an airdash will happen at

-You can now hold the dash macro to run.

-Slightly Decreased the amount of meter forward dashing gives.

-Increased the time Overdrive lasts for.

-Slightly Increased the damage buff Overdrive gives.

-Made 22x inputs easier(hopefully)

-You can now parry during the ground jump startup when jumping from ANY state

-Throws can no longer counterhit.

-You can no longer air recover after being counterhit with an air recoverable attack.

-Backthrows no longer switch the character's positions before the tech window has ended.

-You can now guard during a successful parry.

-Dead Angle now has less I-frames.(like about 4 less for each)

-Dead Angles are now overheads instead of unblockable.

-DEAD ANGLES CAN NO LONGER KILL

-Multi hit attacks now only add one total point of scaling instead of one per hit

-The Burst meter now is filled at the start of the first round, and maintains it's level between rounds.

-The recovery of a burst(falling to the ground after the burst animation) is no longer invincible

-You can no longer be hit on the same frame you burst or air recover.

-Air recovery can now be punished with throws/command grabs

-Direction is now updated during Shorthops and Superjumps.

-Command Normals will no longer autocorrect direction on startup.

-The time a special move will autocorrect direction for has been lowered.

-Blood is now on by default when starting from a new config file.
